OKX Introduces Runecoin Mining To Bitcoin Stakers
On April 29, leading digital asset bourse OKX openly invited its users to a new mining event for Runecoin (RUNE), a Bitcoin-based cryptocurrency, which will be conducted via its Jumpstart platform. The mining process began at 7 AM UTC on April 29 and ended 24 hours later. Bitcoin holders willing to generate some Runecoin tokens were urged to stake their BTCs and receive RUNE as a reward.
Runecoin is the native token of Runes Protocol whose initial airdrop was distributed to early Ordinals users. Its total supply is primed at 21 billion, the same as Bitcoin’s. These similarities somewhat present Runecoin (RUNE) as a contender to Bitcoin (BTC).
